Well! Well! I was going to say what a lovely day at the opening of the MUGA last Thursday, But have just been told that it as been vandalised. Now I can’t think for one minute that it would be children on site as all the children have been waiting for something to do.
Please can we be on the watch for any vandals and let Katie Baldwin know or one of the committee members Thank you!

On a positive side the next play area is well on the way to be completed, which is going to be a sunken pirate ship. Hopefully keep the kids amused…..lol

Not long now before I’m off to the coast for the weekend, Yah!

For those who don't know me I'm Emma, one of the events team on LFCA committee. I'm also quiz master and bingo caller if you have attended one of our events!

After sending a letter regarding our charity auction the lovely marketing guy at Peterborough greyhound stadium sent me lots of vouchers for free entry for us to sell on to raise money for our community centre.

After a meeting we decided as we are about bringing the community together, we decided that I would organise our first Love's farm coach trip.So I booked the coach and started to advertise... Didn't sell any tickets in the first couple of weeks and I started to panic but over the last 3 weeks I have had many calls and people popping round to get tickets and so last night we took a full coach to the dogs!

Many 'greyhound racing' newbies on the coach set with anticipation... and with tickets all issued we were all set!

We had some losers and some winners and lots of smiling faces (which was due to happiness not just the wine!) and a good night was had by all!

So our first trip in the bag and with many requesting another I think we can safely say it was a success. So where would you like to go? What have you not done before and would like to do? (Within reason lol) Let me know your thoughts and I shall see what we can do!

If you were one of the people who came with us, thank you! And if you had a good time tell your friends and neighbours! And finally going back to the start, we were sent  over 100 vouchers so if you didn't make it and maybe fancy a trip to the dogs yourself I have a sheet of 4 tickets for free entry for the dogs on any Wednesday, Friday or Saturday of your choice (worth £20). You can get these from me for a min donation of £5 to the community centre fund. Please call 211915 or contact me through the Love's farm community association Facebook page!!

Wow! What a great night at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium.

This is LFCA first outing and everybody had a great night all thanks to Emma Lovelock who organised the coach and tickets and we managed to fill a 35 seater coach.

My wife and I also had a great time and come back with more money than we started with, not bad for my first time at the dogs.

Please make use of this pub because its taken a long time coming.

It don't help when you got forklifts with uneven loads not even strapped down or no banksman with them, Also have seen them on there mobile phones while driving on the road and we are trying to get passed or have to look out for falling objects  Grrrrrr.............

If anybody's interested we have a LFCA Meeting tonight in the Reedmans bar, Hope to see you there.

What a "brilliant" afternoon at the Love's Farm Big lunch. A very good turn out by residents which made a good atmosphere and the weather was kind to us aswell. A big thank you to Serena, Katie and Wendy who organised the event, I thought the games went down well and most people joined in.

Looking forward to the next event now which I think is the AGM including a Disco/Ball later.

No joy at the world cup and out of Wimbledon, No change there then!
On a good note, I have had a couple of emails from people who are going to be moving on Love’s Farm later this year saying that they were very impressed with the website (gloat!) and have been updated with events and progress on Love’s Farm and looking forward to moving in.
We have a notice board, which is located on the ground, which is where our community centre will be going near The Round House School. A big thank you to Philip Gibbs who put some hard work in making the notice board for us.
Hope everybody as enjoyed the lovely weather we have had over the last couple of weeks and I managed to find some time to have another walk around Love’s Farm, Lots of new residents now settled into there new homes. The houses are still going up just as fast and selling before being completed, keep up the good work.

See you soon

“Good news!” Yesterday the cabinet went in our favour to run the Community Centre at Love’s Farm. Now the hard work start’s trying to get it built. As we are on the subject we need more people on the separate committee for the Community centre, so come on residents of Love’s Farm we need your help!

Things are still moving fast on the building front BPHA have just released 2 parcels of houses and flats and I have seen a lot of people moving in opposite me. I have already spoke to a couple of families and seem very interested in what we are doing as a community association. Helen LFCA Member will be going round to all the new residents with a welcome letter and introducing herself shortly, so if there is anything you need to know she will be able to help.

I also want to remind all residents on Love’s Farm we are not just here for BPHA residents we are here for Private residents as well. I still get the impression that a lot of people don’t come forward because of that reason.
Ok peeps see you soon,

Ed.

Ps.Come on England good luck for tonight…………..

9th June 2010

Just got to say "what a cracking night" A big thank you to BPHA for putting on a lovely evening and thank you Katie for looking after us and all your help over the last year.

8th June 2010

OMG!! where as the time gone, Sorry it's been so long but have been a "tad" busy. There as been a lot happening since my last blog, Here goe's

There was a Neighbourhood watch meeting last wednesday which i believe was a success and if you dont know the Neighbourhood watch scheme is being set up by PCSO Carol and Katie Baldwin and so far they have 30 residents across Love's Farm who want to be involved, That is brilliant.

On the housing front we now have aprox. 400 occuppied properties at Love's Farm and growing by the week.

I have got to mention the Community Cookbook which is well under way, We have 50 entries which are being compiled. We will be selling the book for £2 per copy and all proceed's going to Love's Farm Community Association and it's all down to the children at The Round House School for doing a "brilliant job" also a big thank you to the teacher who set it as homework! There was three winner's in the competition and Sarah Gower our resident curate, will be handing out Prizes and a certificate.

Last but not least i'm off out tonight and the rest of the LFCA members to a annual BPHA "voluntees thank you event" This event ia a thany you to residents who work with others as part of one of BPHA's registered groups for the good of their community.

Think I have said enough now because my hands ache now!!

Ed.

PS.  What a cracking week weather wise roll on more hot spells..............

20th April 2010

Summer's here at last, well i think. What a lovely weekend especially when you are on the norfolk broads which I was

As I was taking my daughter to the Playgroup I saw plenty of Green bags At the side of the road which must mean the Spring clean at love's farm was a success, A big thank you to everybody who helped!

I can not believe how fast the the houses are going up now, It seems like one day they are putting the foundations in and then the next they are up to roof level and have sold signs on them. Lots of new faces waliking about the site now.

How many of you have walked around Love's farm? If you get the chance you need to because the path which goes right round the edge of love's farm is "brilliant". They have put a lot of hard work into the landscaping and now the better weather is here makes a nice walk.

I am hoping to keep this blog updated at least once a week so you get an idea of the progress on the love's farm.

see you soon,

Ed.
