Community Centre On Its Way

LFCC - Feb14 - 3DThe long-awaited community centre is coming to Love's Farm. It will be situated just to the north of the Tesco/Barnardo's car park, and include a large hall, meeting room, kitchen, open-plan seating area, office and garden. The site will also house a new pre-school with provision for 26 children. The design is a collaboration between the county, district and town councils in conjunction with Love's Farm Community Association. We're delighted at the prospect of such an attractive, useful building, and we're sure it's going to make a huge difference to the lives of Love's Farm residents.

The design is currently at a consultation stage with the Hunts District Council planning department, and will soon be formally submitted for planning permission. T&B Contractors have been appointed to construct the building, and work is due to commence in September. Completion is slated for early 2015.

Once it's complete, Love's Farm Community Association will take on management of the building. We've been working hard behind the scenes (some of us for many years) to get to this stage, but now we need the support of many more Love's Farm residents.

The first thing you can do to help is to tell us what you want from the centre. We've created a residents' survey, which you can complete online via the link below. We're also looking for as many volunteers as possible to help plan for the launch of the centre, and to help run it. If you'd like to get involved, please include your details at the end of the survey.

Click here to complete the survey. It should take about five minutes.
