Brown Tail Moth Infestation

We've had reports of the re-appearance of the brown tail moths which plagued Love's Farm earlier this year.

Hunts District Council are aware of the problem and are currently deciding the course of action they will take, but have been advised that the best way to deal with them is to prune the affected parts of the plants in the winter when the caterpillars are hibernating, and to leave them alone for the time being.

In the meantime, the leaflet linked below gives residents advice on how to spot the moths and deal with them in your own gardens. You should be aware that touching them with bare hands can cause a rash or other adverse reaction, so please be careful.
