Love's Farm Awards and Annual Meeting 2017

Our annual community awards evening, hosted at Love's Farm House, this Friday, was combined with the annual general meetings of our community association and community centre and provided the perfect occasion to spend time with one another around a drink and nibbles to celebrate the things we love and that matter to us on Love's Farm!

The evening opened with a discussion on the options for a community parking scheme and an overview of the revised 'community plan', a full copy of which can be found on the website.  A couple of quiz rounds followed and then the highlight of the evening, the presentation of the community awards! Every winner was a worthy winner but special mention of Keela Shackell-Smith who received an 'Outstanding Contribution' award for her tireless service to the community over a number of years via a variety of roles but most recently as Brownie Leader here on Love's Farm and the initiator of the responsible dog owners group and dog-poo campaign.

The evening concluded with a couple more quiz rounds and the speediest two AGMs in history.  Marcus Pickering remains our community association chair for 2017/18 and Ben Pitt our community centre chair.  LFCA secretary is Eleanor Babbington and treasurer David Wells.  LFH secretary is Linda Morgan and treasurer is Raymon Gompelman - thank you one and all!

As the evening concluded it was hard not to feel grateful for the contribution that so many make in helping to write our community story and in building a neighbourhood that people are glad to belong to.
